Last week, I had a chance to visit Autodesk ME (in Montreal’s Old Port). They create professional art tools (for games and architechture, among others), including the popular Maya, Softimage, 3ds Max and other like Inferno, Flame, Flare, Flint, Smoke, Lustre, Backdraft, and Toxik.

Autodesk 3ds Max 2010 Honored with Game Developer Front Line Award

Autodesk 3ds Max 2010 modeling, animation and rendering software has received the 2009 Front Line Award for Best Art Tool from Game Developer magazine. Autodesk Mudbox 2009 digital sculpting and texture painting software was a finalist in the same category.

Autodesk Acquires Dynamite VSP and Dynamite SIM Visualization Software Products

Autodesk, Inc. announced that it has completed the acquisition of Dynamite VSP and Dynamite SIM visualization software products and related assets. The products were purchased from 3AM Solutions, a UK-based privately owned technology company that develops visualization software for civil infrastructure. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
