Visit: Autodesk Media & Entertainment

Published by Chris Comeau at 9:49 am under Photos

autodeskLast week, I had a chance to visit Autodesk ME (in Montreal’s Old Port). They create professional art tools (for games and architechture, among others), including the popular Maya, Softimage, 3ds Max and other like Inferno, Flame, Flare, Flint, Smoke, Lustre, Backdraft, and Toxik.

It looks like some of their tools have recently become free to use for students.

The company is set up in an old factory and they tried to keep that old fashioned look as much as possible with huge metal beams, metal stairs, open spaces and huges windows. It also has a big talented team (including a game team), a few arcade machines (including Street Fighter 2) and regular “5à7” in its huge lobby.

I took a few snapshots of the building and surrounding, but unfortunately I’m no photographer…

Here is the embedded slideshow or watch it in better quality on Flickr. Enjoy!

Thanks to Jennifer  from Autodesk for the visit!
