Tribal Nova’s co-founders and majority shareholders, Guillaume Aniorté and Pierre Le Lann, announced yesterday that the company had nominated Eric Brassard for the position of CEO of the company. Brassard has been with the company, which is behind several kids virtual worlds, as EVP of Marketing since 2008. The foudners say the nomination comes as Tribal Nova shifts to focus more on its core functions in two directions.

Operations will be developed in two divisions. One will focus on the recently launched Woozworld, a virtual world aimed at 9-to-15-year-olds. Another, Tribal Nova Kids, will focus on partnerships with major media players in North America and Europe to develop online games and video on demand services.

Overall, Tribal Nova says its services have attracted over 2.5 million registered users.

Le Lann will take on the position of Chairman and EVP, Strategic Partnerships, while Aniorté  serve sas Vice-Chairman, Tribal Nova, and President of Tribal Nova Kids.  Brassard will also act as President of the Woozworld division.

"Having made our mark producing award-winning online games and gaming services for children in partnership with major TV producers and broadcasters, this past year we have put a lot more emphasis on marketing our products directly to consumers. Based on Eric’s extensive consumer marketing experience and the leadership he has demonstrated at Tribal Nova, we believe he is clearly the best qualified person to lead the company in this growth phase and achieve our ambitious goals.”
