IGDA Montreal members jammed into the SAT in the midst of a full-bore January snowstorm to play some LittleBigPlanet . Siobhan Reddy, Executive Producer, and Kareem Ettouney, Art Director, were on hand to talk about their PS3 hit title. They described how they grew the game, and the Media Molecule studio, from something small into something big.

With Jamming on LittleBigPlanet as the evening’s topic, Siobhan told us how they approached the creation of the game like musicians. Both the game and the culture of the company developed through jam sessions, a collaboration where everyone contributes their own vision but follows along with the music. The jams were moments of creative freedom, but freedom with purpose. Everyone’s contributions were working toward a common goal.

Kareem Ettouney (Art Director) and Siobhan Reddy (Executive Producer) came from Media Molecule to talk about LittleBigPlanet.
